Refund Policy
Last updated: April 13, 2026
This Refund Policy explains the terms governing refunds, cancellations, and billing for paid subscriptions to MnemoGit (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the terms set forth below. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.
1. Free Trial Period
MnemoGit offers a seven (7) day free trial for new subscribers to paid plans. During the trial period:
- You will have full access to the features included in the selected paid plan.
- No charge will be applied to your payment method during the trial period.
- You may cancel at any time during the trial period without being charged.
- If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription, and your payment method will be charged at the then-current subscription rate.
- We will send you a reminder email at least two (2) days before your trial period ends.
- Each user is eligible for one (1) free trial. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trials is a violation of our Terms of Service.
2. Refund Policy After Trial
After the free trial period has ended and your paid subscription has begun:
- Monthly subscriptions: Subscription fees are non-refundable. Once a monthly billing cycle has been charged, no refund will be issued for that billing period.
- Annual subscriptions: If you cancel an annual subscription after the trial period, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the unused portion of your subscription term, calculated from the date of cancellation to the end of the current annual period. Prorated refunds are issued at our discretion and are calculated based on the number of full months remaining in the annual subscription, less any discounts applied at the time of purchase.
Refund requests should be submitted to [email protected] within thirty (30) days of the charge in question. We reserve the right to deny refund requests made after this period.
3. Cancellation Process
You may cancel your subscription at any time through one of the following methods:
- Self-service: Navigate to your Account Settings and select the subscription management option. Follow the prompts to cancel your subscription.
- Email: Send a cancellation request to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.
Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features during this time.
- No further charges will be applied to your payment method after cancellation.
- After the current billing period ends, your account will be downgraded to the free tier. Your data, including flashcard decks and study history, will be preserved, though access to certain premium features will be restricted.
- You will receive an email confirming your cancellation and the date your paid access will end.
4. Grace Period
If your payment method fails at the time of a scheduled renewal, the following grace period applies:
- You will have a seven (7) day grace period to update your payment information before your access to paid features is suspended.
- During the grace period, you will retain full access to paid features.
- We will send you email notifications on day 1, day 3, and day 5 of the grace period, requesting that you update your payment method.
- If your payment information is not updated within the seven (7) day grace period, your account will be downgraded to the free tier.
5. Dunning and Payment Retries
When a scheduled payment fails, our payment processor (Stripe) will automatically retry the charge according to the following schedule:
- First retry: Three (3) days after the initial failed payment
- Second retry: Five (5) days after the initial failed payment
- Third retry: Seven (7) days after the initial failed payment (final attempt)
If all retry attempts fail, your subscription will be marked as past due and your account will be downgraded to the free tier. You may resubscribe at any time by updating your payment method and selecting a new plan.
6. Credit Balance Handling
In certain circumstances, we may issue credits to your MnemoGit account instead of processing a monetary refund. Credits may be issued for:
- Service disruptions or outages that materially affect your ability to use the Service
- Goodwill gestures in response to billing disputes
- Promotional offers or adjustments
Account credits:
- Will be automatically applied to your next billing cycle
- Are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash
- Expire twelve (12) months from the date of issuance if not applied to a billing cycle
- Will be forfeited upon account termination, whether initiated by you or by MnemoGit
7. Exceptional Circumstances
We may, at our sole discretion, issue refunds outside the terms of this policy in exceptional circumstances, including:
- Extended service outages (exceeding 72 consecutive hours) that prevent you from accessing the Service
- Unauthorized charges resulting from a security breach of our systems (not your account credentials)
- Billing errors caused by our systems
8. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the updated policy on this page. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers via email at least thirty (30) days before taking effect. The terms in effect at the time of your subscription or renewal will govern that billing period.
