Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 13, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the MnemoGit platform and all related services (the “Service”). This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not create, upload, share, or distribute content through the Service that:
- Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, or tortious
- Contains hate speech, promotes violence, or discriminates against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age
- Contains sexually explicit or pornographic material
- Promotes or facilitates illegal activities, including but not limited to drug trafficking, weapons trading, or terrorism
- Infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets
- Contains malicious code, viruses, malware, or any software intended to damage or interfere with the operation of any computer system
- Impersonates any person or entity or falsely represents your affiliation with any person or entity
- Contains unsolicited advertising, spam, or promotional material
2. Sensitive Data Restrictions
The Service is designed for educational flashcard content and study materials. You must not store, input, or include the following types of sensitive information in your flashcards, notes, or any other content on the platform:
- API keys, access tokens, or secrets: Do not store third-party API keys, access tokens, OAuth secrets, or any other authentication credentials in flashcard content. Use the designated BYOK settings feature for API key storage instead.
- Passwords and credentials: Do not store passwords, PINs, security questions and answers, or other authentication credentials in flashcard content.
- Personally identifiable information (PII): Do not store Social Security numbers, government-issued identification numbers, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, or financial account numbers in flashcard content.
- Protected health information (PHI): Do not store medical records, health insurance information, or other data protected under HIPAA or similar regulations.
- Payment card data: Do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or other payment card information in flashcard content.
MnemoGit is not designed to be a secure vault for sensitive data. Content submitted through the Service may be processed by third-party AI APIs. By using the Service, you acknowledge that flashcard content is not appropriate for storing sensitive or confidential information.
3. No Reverse Engineering
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service or any part thereof
- Attempt to access or reconstruct the proprietary algorithms, including the spaced repetition scheduling algorithms, beyond what is documented in our public documentation
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service or any component thereof
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or markings on the Service
4. Rate Limits and Fair Usage
To ensure fair access to the Service for all users, the following rate limits and usage restrictions apply:
- API calls (including AI generation requests) are subject to per-user rate limits based on your subscription tier. Exceeding these limits may result in temporary throttling.
- Automated bulk creation of flashcard decks beyond reasonable personal study use is prohibited.
- You may not use the Service to generate content at scale for redistribution outside the platform without express written permission.
- Concurrent session limits may apply. Sharing account credentials to circumvent per-user limits is prohibited.
We reserve the right to adjust rate limits at any time. Current rate limits for your subscription tier are available in your account dashboard.
5. Abuse Detection and Enforcement
We employ automated and manual systems to detect violations of this AUP, including but not limited to:
- Automated monitoring of content for prohibited material
- Rate limit enforcement and anomalous usage pattern detection
- User reports and flagging mechanisms
- Periodic audits of publicly shared content
If we detect or receive a report of a potential violation, we may investigate and take appropriate action at our sole discretion, including the measures described in Section 7 below.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclosure
When you use MnemoGit’s AI features to generate or enhance flashcard content, the following applies:
- AI-generated content on MnemoGit is labeled as such within the Service. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content for accuracy before using it for study or sharing it with others.
- If you share or export AI-generated content from MnemoGit to other platforms, you are responsible for disclosing that the content was generated or assisted by AI, where applicable or required by law.
- You may not represent AI-generated content as solely your own original work in academic, professional, or other contexts where such representation would be misleading or violate institutional policies.
- AI-generated flashcard content may contain errors, biases, or inaccuracies. MnemoGit does not guarantee the factual accuracy of AI-generated content.
7. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions, at our sole discretion:
- Warning: A written notice describing the violation and requesting corrective action.
- Content removal: Removal of content that violates this AUP without prior notice.
- Feature restriction: Temporary limitation of access to specific features, such as AI generation or public sharing.
- Account suspension: Temporary suspension of your account for a specified period.
- Account termination: Permanent termination of your account and deletion of all associated data, with no refund of prepaid subscription fees.
- Legal action: Pursuit of legal remedies, including damages and injunctive relief, for violations that cause harm to MnemoGit or third parties.
The severity of the response will be proportional to the nature and severity of the violation, taking into account factors such as whether the violation was intentional, repeated, or caused harm to other users. We will generally provide notice and an opportunity to remedy non-severe violations before taking more serious enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or its users.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of content or conduct that violates this AUP, please report it to us at [email protected]. Please include a description of the violation, any relevant URLs or content identifiers, and your contact information. We will review all reports and take appropriate action.
