AI Transparency Disclosure
Last updated: April 13, 2026
MnemoGit (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to transparency about how we use artificial intelligence (“AI”) in our platform. This AI Transparency Disclosure explains which AI technologies we use, how your content is processed, and your rights regarding AI-assisted features.
1. AI Models Used
MnemoGit integrates with the following third-party AI models and providers to power its features:
1.1 Anthropic Claude
We use Anthropic’s Claude family of models (including Claude Sonnet and Claude Haiku) for flashcard generation, content enhancement, and intelligent study assistance. Claude models are accessed through the Anthropic API. Anthropic’s data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy and Usage Policy. As of our last review, Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs for model training.
1.2 OpenAI
We integrate with OpenAI’s models (including GPT-4 and related models) as an alternative AI provider for flashcard generation and content processing. OpenAI models are accessed through the OpenAI API. OpenAI’s data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy and Usage Policies. API usage data is not used for model training by default under their business terms.
1.3 OpenRouter
OpenRouter serves as an API gateway that provides access to additional AI models from various providers. When you select a model available through OpenRouter, your content is processed subject to both OpenRouter’s policies and the downstream model provider’s terms.
1.4 Model Selection
Users can choose which AI model to use for their content processing. When using our platform-provided API keys, you are limited to the models included in your subscription tier. When using your own API keys (BYOK), you may access any model supported by the respective provider, subject to your agreement with that provider.
2. How User Content Is Processed by Third-Party AI
When you use AI-powered features on MnemoGit, the following data flow occurs:
- Content submission: You submit content (text, topics, source material) through the MnemoGit interface for AI processing, such as generating flashcards from a topic or enhancing existing flashcard content.
- Prompt construction: MnemoGit constructs an API request that includes your submitted content along with system instructions that guide the AI model to produce educational flashcard content. We do not include your personal information (name, email, account details) in API requests.
- API transmission:The request is transmitted over a TLS-encrypted connection to the selected AI provider’s API endpoint.
- AI processing:The AI model processes the request and generates a response. This processing occurs on the AI provider’s servers, subject to their data handling policies.
- Response handling: The AI-generated response is returned to MnemoGit, where it is parsed, formatted, and presented to you for review.
- Storage: The content you submitted and the AI-generated response are stored in your MnemoGit account as part of your flashcard data. We retain API call metadata (model used, token counts, timestamps) for billing and analytics. We do not separately store the raw API request or response payloads after processing is complete.
3. Automated Decision-Making Technology (ADMT) Disclosure — California
Pursuant to California law regarding automated decision-making technology, we provide the following disclosure:
3.1 Use of ADMT
MnemoGit uses automated decision-making technology in the following ways:
- AI content generation: Third-party AI models automatically generate flashcard content, explanations, and study materials based on user-provided input. These outputs are presented as suggestions for the user to review, edit, and approve.
- Spaced repetition scheduling: An algorithm automatically determines when flashcards should be reviewed based on your past performance. This affects the order and timing of your study sessions but does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
- Content moderation: Automated systems may flag or filter content that potentially violates our Acceptable Use Policy. Flagged content is subject to human review before any account action is taken.
3.2 Significance
None of our automated decision-making processes produce decisions that result in the provision or denial of financial or lending services, housing, insurance, education enrollment, criminal justice, employment opportunities, health care services, or access to essential goods or services. Our AI features are used solely for educational content generation and study optimization.
3.3 Opt-Out
You may opt out of AI-powered features at any time by creating and managing flashcards manually without invoking AI generation tools. Your study experience will not be degraded if you choose not to use AI features, though you will not benefit from automated content generation. You may continue to use the spaced repetition algorithm, which operates based on your study performance data rather than AI content generation.
4. AI-Generated Content Labeling
MnemoGit labels AI-generated content within the platform as follows:
- Flashcards generated by AI are marked with an indicator showing the AI model that created them.
- AI-enhanced content (user-created content that was modified by AI) retains a record of the AI enhancement in the card’s history.
- Shared decks that contain AI-generated content are labeled to inform other users.
- Exported content includes metadata indicating AI involvement where technically feasible.
We believe in clear attribution so that users can make informed decisions about the content they study and share.
5. Spaced Repetition Algorithm
MnemoGit uses a spaced repetition algorithm to optimize your study schedule. This algorithm:
- What it does: Schedules flashcard reviews at increasing intervals based on how well you demonstrate recall of each card. Cards you find difficult are shown more frequently, while cards you know well are shown at longer intervals.
- Data inputs: The algorithm uses your review history (correct/incorrect responses, response time, confidence ratings) to calculate optimal review intervals for each card.
- How it works: The algorithm is based on established cognitive science research on the spacing effect and memory consolidation. It calculates a stability score and difficulty rating for each card and uses these to determine the next review date.
- User control: You may override the algorithm at any time by manually scheduling reviews, marking cards for immediate review, or adjusting the study intensity settings in your preferences.
- No profiling: The spaced repetition data is used solely to optimize your personal study schedule. It is not used to create profiles for advertising, scoring, or any purpose beyond improving your learning experience.
6. User Rights Regarding AI Processing
You have the following rights with respect to how your data is processed by AI features:
- Right to opt out: You may use MnemoGit without using any AI-powered features. All core flashcard creation, study, and sharing features are available without AI.
- Right to review: All AI-generated content is presented to you for review before it is saved. You may edit, approve, or discard any AI-generated content.
- Right to delete: You may delete any AI-generated content from your account at any time. Deletion removes the content from our systems in accordance with our data retention policies. Note that content already processed by third-party AI providers is subject to their respective data retention policies.
- Right to information: You may request information about how your data has been processed by AI systems, including which models were used and when. Contact us at [email protected] to submit such a request.
- Right to human review: If any automated system takes action affecting your account (such as content moderation), you may request human review of that decision by contacting us.
- Right to model selection: Where multiple AI models are available, you have the right to choose which model processes your content, allowing you to select providers whose data practices you are comfortable with.
7. Limitations of AI
We want to be transparent about the limitations of AI technology used in our Service:
- AI-generated flashcard content may contain factual errors, outdated information, or biases present in the training data of the underlying models.
- AI models may generate plausible-sounding but incorrect information (commonly referred to as “hallucinations”).
- AI performance may vary based on topic, language, and complexity of the subject matter.
- AI-generated content should be treated as a starting point for your studies, not as an authoritative or verified source of information.
- We encourage all users to verify AI-generated content against reliable sources, especially for critical academic or professional use.
8. Updates to This Disclosure
We will update this AI Transparency Disclosure when we add new AI models, change how we process data through AI systems, or when required by changes in applicable law. Material changes will be communicated to users via email at least thirty (30) days before taking effect.
